Head Start Part-time Family Advocate

Who We're Looking For...

SCS Head Start is seeking a Part-Time Family Advocate for our Keene Center. The Family Advocate provides ongoing support to Head Start families by identifying individual family needs, setting goals based on these needs, and making referrals to community service providers. They facilitate family engagement activities, encourage parental involvement in education, maintain accurate records in our database (ChildPlus), complete reports and health screenings, and collaborate with teaching staff. The Family Advocate maintains a high level of confidentiality while working with families. Head Start promotes ongoing professional development, and Family Advocates are required to attend various training opportunities, staff meetings and cover in the classroom as needed. Family Advocates must become familiar with and adhere to NH State Child Care Licensing Rules and Head Start Performance Standards.

Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or a related field. This is a part time position, 29.5 hours per week, M-F with the summer off. The rate of pay for this position is $19.46-$20.53 per hour, based on education.
