New Hope New Horizons


Southwestern Community Services’ New Hope New Horizons provides the following employment services:

 

Supported Employment

 Develops paid employment opportunities in integrated community settings for people who have a developmental disability or an acquired brain injury. Our employment specialists analyze prospective jobs and carefully match candidates to employers’ specifications. Once hired, the employment specialist provides training and support to employer and employee on a long-term basis. Consumers have the opportunity to participate in career planning sessions, volunteer work, skill acquisition and training classes and goal-oriented community activities.

Vocational Rehabilitation

 Provides assistance with employment preparation, skill and interest assessment and accessing the competitive job market. Our employment specialists work with consumers to define their employment objectives and assist them in identifying and contacting potential employers. Once hired, we provide short-term supports to assure adjustment to the work environment. We also assist individuals in advocating for long-term funding support, as requested.

Options  

Serves adults who have a developmental disability or an acquired brain injury who need assistance in developing and maintaining an active community life. We provide a flexible system of support that promotes individual choice and activity. Our goal is to provide community-based work, volunteer, educational, social and recreational opportunities and to promote strengthening of relationships with friends, family, and coworkers.

Day Services  

Day Services provides individualized assistance in the form of social educational and  therapeutic supports, which expands each person's choices.  We offer a variety of experiences to enhance communication of preferences and to help people establish themselves as active and contributing members of their communities.
