Weatherization Technical Assistant :

SCS is currently seeking a full-time Technical Assistant for the weatherization program within our Energy Services Department. This position will be located in our Keene, NH office with travel to towns throughout Cheshire County and Sullivan County, as needed. The Technical Assistant will assist with aspects of the weatherization and energy efficiency work completed in the homes of individuals with low and moderate income.

Duties will include billing for individual jobs, assisting in the field to complete individual jobs, and other technical tasks, as assigned. This position requires professional, courteous, and effective communication with clients, staff, and sub-contractors, as well as a willingness to learn and participate in additional training. Strong organization, computer, and customer service skills are required. Typical hours are M-F, 8:30-4:30 pm with some variance when needed. The starting pay is $15-17/hour, depending on experience and/or education.

Health, Safety, & Nutrition Services Manager:

Southwestern Community Services Head Start Program is seeking a detail-oriented professional to fill the position of Health, Safety, & Nutrition Services Manager. This person will have a “can do” attitude and a proficiency in using software for data collection and management, for tracking, and for the follow-up of the program-wide health, safety, and nutrition services. This is a full-time, hourly, position, located at the Keene office, and reports to the Director of Child Development Services.

This position requires the ability to communicate professionally, to work independently, and to work collaboratively with others, including children, families, and staff, the medical and dental community, and other programs, such as Woman, Infants, and Children (WIC) or UNH Extension services. The ability to manage multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is a must. As part of the HS Management team, the Health, Safety, & Nutrition Services Manager ensures that the health, safety, and nutritional needs of the children are met. He/she also participates in program planning, staff training, program evaluation, and collaboration with community organizations.

A Registered Dietician is preferred. A Registered Nurse degree with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Health Science, Nursing, Nutrition/ Dietetics, Public Health, or related field will be considered.

Full-Time Teacher Assistant:

SCS Head Start is looking to fill a Full-Time Teacher Assistant Position. Associate Degree is ECE is required. This position is full time, 35 hours per week and follows the Head Start school year calendar.

The Teacher Assistant is responsible for working collaboratively with the Teacher in creating a supportive and enriching learning environment for preschool children and for planning, designing and implementing a comprehensive developmentally appropriate curriculum that provides hands-on learning opportunities for all children. Under the supervision of the Teacher, the Teacher Assistant will model the appropriate interventions and interactions with children, will share the responsibilities of completing the required paperwork, work collaboratively with all other SCS staff and participate in all required meetings and trainings.

Head Start is looking for teachers who have positive attitudes and love working with children and families. Familiarity with NAEYC Best Practices and the Head Start Standards is ideal. SCS Head Start Cook Part-Time Position:

Southwestern Community Services Head Start has an opening for a part-time cook in Cheshire County at the Ashuelot Head Start Center. This position is 29.5 hours per week, 9 months per year.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and cooking experience. ServSafe Certification is preferred. Flexibility is a must. This position also requires a positive attitude and enjoying working with children and families.

Southwestern Community Services Transportation is seeking energetic, customer-oriented, and skilled driver for public transportation driver position in Sullivan County. This positon is a safety-sensitive position, requiring the safe operation of a public transportation vehicle, passenger assistance, and compliance with all applicable Federal, state, and local regulations, including U.S. DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations. This is a part time hourly position.

Emergency Shelter Resident Manager:

Southwestern Community Services, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and compassionate human services professional to join our Housing Stabilization team in Cheshire and Sullivan Counties, New Hampshire. This is a flexible position covering overnight and weekend shifts.

The Resident Manager will provide coverage in our Family and Men’s Emergency Shelters, open 24 hours, 7 days a week. They will be responsible for the supervision of residents and the general management of the program under the direction of the HSS Administrative & Stabilization Manager. This position requires verbal communication skills, dependability, and a knowledge of conflict resolution. Case Management experience preferred.

Head Start Part-Time Teacher’s Assistants:

SCS Head Start is looking to fill part-time teacher’s assistant positions at the following NAEYC Accredited Head Start Centers:
 
  • Part-Time 25 hours per week Teacher’s Assistants in our Ashuelot and Drewsville Sites.
  • Part-Time 29.5 hours per week Teacher’s Assistants in our Swanzey and Claremont Sites
  • Part-Time 29.5 hours per week substitute teacher who will be based in Keene but be willing to travel to any of our sites.
 
These positions are part time and follow the Head Start School Calendar, from August 5, 2019 through May 22, 2020. Minimum qualifications require an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or a closely related degree with 24 Early Childhood Credits.
