Head Start Part-Time Substitute Teacher:

SCS Head Start is looking to fill part-time Substitute Teacher position will be based in our Keene location but willing to travel to any of our other six centers.

This positions is part time. 29.5 hours per week and follow the Head Start School Calendar starting, August 17, 2020. Minimum qualifications require an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or a closely related degree with 24 Early Childhood Credits.

SCS Head Start is looking for teachers who have positive attitudes and love working with children and families. Familiarity with NAEYC Best Practices and Head Start Standards is ideal. Southwestern Community Services Head Start requires our teaching teams to work respectfully and collaboratively with all staff in the center. Part Time Cook:

Southwestern Community Services Head Start has openings for a part-time Cook in Cheshire County at our Swanzey Head Start Center.

This position is 29.5 hours per week, 9 months per year. High school or equivalent required, cooking experience required, SERV Safe Certified preferred. Must have flexibility, a positive attitude, and enjoy working with children and families.

Social Emotional Coach:

Southwestern Community Services has an opening for the position of Social and Emotional Coach. This position is responsible for coaching all teaching staff in using the Pyramid model (CSEFEL Framework) as they support the behavioral/social/emotional health of all children enrolled in the SCS Head Start program. The Coach will be available for parents to offer strategies, techniques, and resources to support social skills and the emotional wellness of children at school as well as at home.

The Social and Emotional Coach will be familiar with Head Start Performance Standards and the CSEFEL Framework and will be available for staff on a regular basis. The Coach will develop goals in collaboration with teachers to increase teacher competence and development. To increase positive teacher/child interaction, the Coach will be a role model by using positive language, when executing a strategy, and when guiding teachers. The Social and Emotional Coach is responsible for providing ongoing support for creating environments that are conducive to ensuring happiness, building self-esteem, fostering secure attachments, and building a sense of wonder.

The Coach will work collaboratively with the Behavior Specialist/Social and Emotional Coach and the Education/Disabilities Services Manager; being open to acquiring continuing education is encouraged so as to stay current and to help the program implement the best practices.

Housing Stabilization Prevention Intake Specialist :

SCS is currently seeking two full-time Prevention Intake Specialists. The positions will be located in Keene, NH with some travel to Claremont, NH. The Intake Specialist assists families with all aspects of applying for assistance with homeless prevention and housing assistance. This position requires professional, courteous, and effective communication with clients, staff and partner agencies. Strong organization, computer, and customer service skills are required, as well as attention to detail. Office hours are M-F, 8:30-4:30pm. The deadline to apply will be June 29, 2020, but interviews may be scheduled earlier based on potential candidates and the needs of the program.

Transit Driver:

Southwestern Community Services Transportation is seeking energetic, customer-oriented, and skilled driver for public transportation driver position in Sullivan County. This positon is a safety-sensitive position, requiring the safe operation of a public transportation vehicle, passenger assistance, and compliance with all applicable Federal, state, and local regulations, including U.S. DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations. This is a part time hourly position.

Qualified candidates must have a safe driving record. Position requires transportation of ambulatory and non-ambulatory passengers throughout the communities of Charlestown, Claremont, and Newport. Successful candidates will display excellent communication and customer service skills.
