Lead Teacher:

Southwestern Community Services Head Start is now seeking qualified candidates to immediately fill the Ashuelot Head Start Lead Teacher position. This full time position requires teachers who have positive attitudes and love working with children and families. Familiarity with NAEYC Best Practices, Head Start Standards, and the Head Start Early Learning Framework is ideal.

The ability to manage multiple priorities, including but not limited to, child assessment and record keeping, participation in IEP meetings, and processing reporting materials in a timely manner while maintaining the top priority of creating and implementing intentional lesson plans to manage and maintain a warm, caring educational experience for the children in the Head Start Program.

TThe minimum requirements for a Lead Teacher position are a Bachelors’ Degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field with acceptable Early Childhood credits.

Full-Time Teacher’s Assistant:

Southwestern Community Services Head Start is looking to fill the Teacher’s Assistant position in our Keene Head Start

This position is full time, 35 hours per week and follows the Head Start school year calendar. An Associate Degree is ECE is required.

The Teacher Assistant is responsible for working collaboratively with the Teacher in creating a supportive and enriching learning environment for preschool children and for planning, designing and implementing a comprehensive developmentally appropriate curriculum that provides hands-on learning opportunities for all children. Under the supervision of the Teacher, the Teacher Assistant will model the appropriate interventions and interactions with children, will share the responsibilities of completing the required paperwork, work collaboratively with all other SCS staff and participate in all required meetings and trainings.

Part-Time Teachers’ Assistant:

The position is 29.5 hours per week, nine months a year with competitive salary. Associates’ Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or related field required; Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or a related field preferred. Emergency Housing Coordinator:

Southwestern Community Services is seeking an enthusiastic, highly organized professional to join the Housing Stabilization Services program. This is an hourly position, located in the Keene office that reports to the Coordinated Entry Program Manager.

The Emergency Housing Coordinator ensures the safety of all residents by implementing, monitoring and enforcing the rules and regulations of communal living programs and oversees the maintenance of the buildings and grounds. The main priority is providing temporary shelter services for homeless individuals and/or families, and to develop client driven housing stabilization plans that promote moving towards permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

Public Transportation Drivers:

Southwestern Community Services Transportation is seeking energetic, customer-oriented, and skilled drivers for public transportation driver positions in Sullivan County. This positon is a safety-sensitive position, requiring the safe operation of a public transportation vehicle, passenger assistance, and compliance with all applicable Federal, state, and local regulations, including U.S. DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations. This is a part time hourly position.

Qualified candidates must have a safe driving record. A valid CDL with passenger endorsement is a plus. Position requires transportation of ambulatory and non-ambulatory passengers throughout the communities of Charlestown, Claremont, and Newport. Successful candidates will display excellent communication and customer service skills.
