SCS Housing,
Inc. has a variety of affordable housing units
for both families and seniors. The various
complexes are located in eleven different towns
throughout Cheshire and Sullivan counties. All
rents include heat and hot water. Please check
for apartment availability before filling out an
application.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide decent, safe and
affordable housing for those individuals who are
income eligible under the program guidelines and
who meet our Tenant Selection criteria.
We provide referrals to services in the
community to help individuals and families on
their journey to self-sufficiency on an
as-needed basis.
We are also in business to provide a return to
our investors whose commitment of funds allows
us to acquire and build suitable units of
housing to help meet community needs.
Applying for SCS Housing
The first step in applying for SCS housing is to
fill out an application form. After the application has
been completed, call one of our housing
representatives for an appointment:
Charlestown Senior Housing
Charlestown Senior Housing consists of
20 one-bedroom apartments for seniors
(age 62+). This complex is located in a
rural setting. Amenities include an
elevator, on-site laundry room,
community room, off-street parking, and
mail delivery. All apartments are
Section 202 subsidized and include all
utilities, trash removal and snow
removal. Applicants must be income
eligible and must meet tenant selection
criteria.
Drewsville Carriage House
This beautiful, old mansion has been
converted into five (5) two- and
three-bedroom apartments. Drewsville
Carriage House is on the National
Register of Historic places, and SCS
Head Start operates a center on the site
in a separate building, the original
Drewsville mansion carriage house. The
apartments have large rooms with the
original fireplaces (non-operational)
and woodwork. There is an on-site
laundry, playground and off-street
parking. Heat and hot water, trash
removal and snow removal are included
with the rent. These apartments are not
subsidized, but Section 8 vouchers are
accepted. Applicants must be income
eligible and must meet tenant selection
criteria.
Hinsdale Main Street Housing
Hinsdale Housing consists of sixteen
one-, two-, and three-bedroom
apartments. It is located on Main
Street, across from the Community
Center. There is an on-site laundry and
a playground. Heat and hot water, trash
removal, and snow removal are included
with the rent. These apartments are not
subsidized, but Section 8 vouchers are
accepted. Applicants must be income
eligible and must meet tenant selection
criteria.
Jaffrey Housing
Three houses have been converted into
nine units with one-, two-, or
three-bedrooms in each apartment. These
apartments are located on 23 and 27
Cross Street and 28 Goodnow Street. They
are within walking distance of the town
and have an on-site laundry and
off-street parking. Heat, hot water,
trash removal, and snow removal are
included in the rent. These apartments
are not subsidized, but Section 8
vouchers are accepted. Applicants must
be income eligible and must meet tenant
selection criteria.
Keene Eastside Senior Housing
Keene Eastside Senior Housing consists
of one- and two-bedroom apartments for
seniors (55+). The apartments are in a
converted mill and are located close to
downtown Keene. Amenities include an
elevator, laundry room, community room,
and sitting rooms on each floor. All
utilities, trash removal, and snow
removal are included in the rent. These
apartments are not subsidized, but
Section 8 vouchers are accepted.

must meet tenant selection criteria.
Keene Highland Housing
These newly constructed townhouse-style
apartments are located on Citizens Way
in Keene. The complex consists of 6
buildings containing 40 one-, two-, and
three-bedroom apartments. Each building
has a laundry room and assigned parking.
There are two playgrounds and a
community room. Heat, hot water, trash
removal, and snow removal are included
with the rent. These apartments are not
subsidized, but Section 8 vouchers are
accepted. Applicants must be income
eligible and must meet tenant selection
criteria.
Meadow Road Senior Housing
Located within walking distance to
downtown Newport, Meadow Road Senior
Housing consists of 25 one-bedroom
apartments for seniors age 62 and older.
Amenities include an elevator, on-site
laundry room, community room, off-street
parking, and mail delivery. All
apartments are Section 202 subsidized
and include all utilities, trash
removal, and snow removal. Applicants
must be income eligible and must meet
tenant selection criteria.
North Walpole Housing
Three large houses in North Walpole have
been converted into 16 family units with
one-, two-, or three-bedroom apartments.
Heat, hot
water, trash removal, and snow removal
are included with the rent. These
apartments are not subsidized, but
Section 8 vouchers are accepted.

must meet tenant selection criteria..
The Bourden Building
There are six 2-bedroom and two
3-bedroom apartments above the
Southwestern Community Services office
at 96 Main Street in Claremont. These
apartments are within walking distance
of town, have an on-site laundry,
off-street parking, and a playground for
children. Heat, hot water, trash
removal, and snow removal are included
with the rent. These apartments are not
subsidized, but Section 8 vouchers are
accepted. Applicants must be income
eligible and meet tenant selection
criteria.
Prescott Hill
Apartments
Located in Peterborough, Prescott Hill
Apartments are two- and three-bedroom
units that have wall-to-wall carpeting
and ample closet space. Most also have a
balcony. They are near parks and
recreational facilities and biking and
walking trails. The apartments are
handicap accessible. There is an on-site
laundry and children’s playground.
After-school programs are in the area.
Heat, hot water, trash removal, and snow
removal are included, and there is
24-hour emergency maintenance. The
apartments are not subsidized, but
Section 8 vouchers are welcome.

Snow Brook Meadow Village Housing
This newly constructed 20-unit complex
is located on Warwick Road in
Winchester. Each unit is a one-, two- or
three-bedroom apartment. There is an
on-site laundry, a playground, and
off-street parking. A small shopping
mall is within walking distance. Heat,
hot water, trash removal, and snow
removal are included with the rent.
These apartments are not subsidized, but
Section 8 vouchers are accepted.

Swanzey Township Housing
These newly constructed one-, two-, or
three-bedroom family units are located
on Main Street in West Swanzey. There is
an on-site laundry, a community room, a
playground, and off-street parking.
Heat, hot water, trash removal, and snow
removal are included in the rent. Four
of the apartments are subsidized by New
Hampshire Housing Finance Authority. The
other 14 apartments are not subsidized,
but Section 8 vouchers are accepted.

Troy Common Housing
Three large houses on Troy Common have
been converted into family units with
one-, two-, three-, or four-bedrooms in
each apartment. There is an on-site
laundry room, a parking area, and a
playground. Heat and hot water, trash
removal, and snow removal are included
in the rent. These apartments are not
subsidized, but Section 8 vouchers are
accepted. Applicants must be income
eligible and must meet tenant selection
criteria.
Troy Senior Housing
These 15 one-bedroom apartments for
seniors (55+) are located on Water
Street and are within walking distance
of the center of town. Amenities include
two laundry rooms, a community room, and
on-site parking. All utilities, trash
removal, and snow removal are included
in the rent. These apartments are not
subsidized, but Section 8 vouchers are
accepted. Applicants must be income
eligible and must meet tenant selection
criteria.
Railroad Square Senior Housing
Located at 49 Community Way in Keene’s
downtown district, Railroad Square
Senior Housing is a three-story senior
housing complex consisting of 22
one-bedroom units and 2 two-bedroom
units. Laundry facilities are located on
each floor. There is a community room,
an elevator, an outside patio area, and
a storage area for each unit. Heat, hot
water, electricity, and snow and rubbish
removal are included in the rent. It is
conveniently located within walking
distance to markets, stores, library,
churches, theaters, cultural events,
pharmacist, Friendly Meals, and other
services. These apartments are not
subsidized, but Section 8 vouchers are
accepted. Applicants must be 55+, must
be income eligible, and must meet tenant
selection criteria.
Warwick Meadow Senior Housing
Located at 68 Warwick Road in
Winchester, this senior housing complex
consists of 14 one-bedroom and 6
two-bedroom apartments. There is an
on-site laundry room, a community room,
an elevator, parking, and mail delivery.
A small shopping mall, including a
grocery store, drug store, bank, and
doctor’s office, is within walking
distance. All utilities, trash removal,
and snow removal are included in the
rent. These apartments are not
subsidized, but Section 8 vouchers are
accepted. Applicants must be 55+, must
be income eligible, and must meet tenant
selection criteria.
Winchester Senior Housing
Winchester Senior Housing has twenty
one- and two-bedroom apartments for
seniors age 55 and older. It is located
on Warwick Road in Winchester. Amenities
include an on-site laundry room,
community room, off-street parking, and
mail delivery. All utilities, trash
removal, and snow removal are included
in the rent. These apartments are not
subsidized, but Section 8 vouchers are
accepted. Applicants must be income
eligible.
