Fuel Assistance Program (FAP)

The Fuel Assistance Program provides benefits to qualified households to assist with heating costs. Payments are made directly to fuel or utility vendors, or to landlords in cases where the cost of heating is included in rental payments made by eligible individuals or families.

The Fuel Assistance Program can also help households in a heating emergency by securing emergency delivery of fuel, delaying a shut-off notice, or referring clients to another source of assistance.

Eligibility and benefits are determined by gross household income, the number of household members, and annual fuel consumption. Priority is given to seniors, physically challenged individuals and families, those with heating emergencies, and high fuel users.
