Meet
Our Board of Directors
The Board
of Directors is comprised of 18 individuals from Sullivan
and Cheshire counties who represent a broad spectrum of the
population, including consumers, from throughout our service
area.

Chairperson,
Kevin Watterson: Kevin
is Vice President of g. housen and co. inc., a
beverage distributorship with offices in New Hampshire
and Vermont
. He
is the President of the local collegiate baseball team, Keene Swamp Bats.
Kevin serves on
the SCS Housing Committee.
He resides in Keene and
represents the Private Sector in Cheshire
County.

Vice
Chairperson, Scott Croteau: Scott
is Vice President of the Walpole Savings Bank
He is the chairperson of the SCS Housing Committee. Scott
resides in
Winchester and represents the Private Sector in Cheshire
County.
¨ Ann
Beattie:
Ann’s employment has been with the State of New Hampshire, The
Claremont Housing Authority as Service Coordinator for the elderly
and disabled and with Easter Seals of New Hampshire serving the same
population. Ann has resided in Sullivan County for the past 39
years and has been very active in the local community. She served
on the Head Start Parent Advisory Council; was one of the original
members of Partners in Caring; served six years on the Board of the
United Way of Sullivan County, one term as Vice President. She
continues to serve as a ServiceLink Board member. Ann lives in
Newport and represents the Private Sector in Sullivan County.

Robert A.
Beauregard: Bob has served for the past 8 years as a Selectman
in the Town of Swanzey, NH. He is currently on the Board of Directors
of the Local Government Center, formally known as the New Hampshire
Municipal Association. He serves on the Monadnock Board
of Realtors and is a licensed insurance agent. He is retired Vice
President of Peerless Insurance Co. He resides in
Swanzey
and represents the Private Sector in
Cheshire
County
.

Charles Miller: Chick
is semi-retired most recently working as a realtor. He has
served on various Boards within the community, including past
Chairperson of the Fall Mountain School Board. Chick is currently a
Walpole Selectperson and serving as its Chairperson.
He is the former Chairperson of the SCS Board of Directors. Chick resides in
Walpole
and represents the Public Sector in Cheshire
County.

David Edkins:
David serves as Administrative Assistant to the Selectboard and
Planning & Zoning Administrator in the Town of
Charlestown. He brings comprehensive experience to the
Board having held past positions as Land Manager for the Frank w.
Whitcomb Constrution Corp., Assistant Planning Director for the City
of Keene
and Assistant Director for Southwest Regional Planning Commission.
He served for many years the Board of Directors of the Southwest
Planning Commission. David served on the Walpole Planning Board,
three years as Chairman. He has served on several ad hoc town
committees. David resides in Walpole and represents the Public
Sector in
Sullivan County .

Clerk/Treasurer, Elaine Amer:
Elaine’s knowledge of involvement within the human services
field is extensive. She has served on countless Boards and Advisory
Councils in Cheshire County the most recent of which is The Homeless
Continuum of Care Advisory Board. Elaine is a long time advocate
for low-income individuals. She was the 1999 recipient of the
Sandra M. Metivier Award. Elaine resides in Swanzey and represents
the Constituent Sector in Cheshire
County.

Leroy Austin:
Leroy served many terms as a Selectperson and currently
holds the position of Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer in
Winchester, a position he has held for a long time. He resides in
Winchester and represents the Public Sector in
Cheshire County .

Raymond Gagnon:
In 2006 Ray was elected to the General Court – NH House of
Representatives. He served in the 80’s and early 90’s on the Board
of Directors of Southwestern Community Services and knows first hand
of the agency’s goal and mission in helping the low-income and
working poor of New Hampshire. Ray is a former Mayor and City
Councilman in Claremont. He resides in Claremont and represents the
Public Sector in Sullivan County.

Louis Remi
Gendron: Louis is currently serving as the president of the Congress
of Claremont Senior Citizens, Inc. He is a real estate broker
and is affiliated with the Alliance of Retired Americans. He
resides in Claremont and represents the Private Sector in Sullivan
County.

Senator Robert
Odell:
As a Senator representing District #8, Bob is intricately involved
in the mission of the agency and the plight of the consumers we work
to assist to self sufficiency. Previously, Senator Odell served as
a member of the NH House of Representatives. He resides in Lempster
and represents the Public Sector in Sullivan County.

Assistant Clerk/Treasurer, Cheryl Gallien:
Cheryl is a past consumer of our affordable housing
program and SCS services. She now owns her own business and resides
in Keene. She represents the Constituent Sector in
Sullivan
County
.

Patricia Russell:
Pat is past Mayor of the City of Keene,
and continues to be active in local and state government. Currently
Pat is one of three Commissioners appointed to the NH Liquor
Commission. She
continues to be a strong advocate for disabled individuals. Pat was the
1995 recipient of the Sandra M. Metivier Award.
She lives in Keene and represents the Public Sector in
Cheshire
County
.

Penny Despres:
Penny is a parent of one of our New Hope New Horizons consumers.
She is an activist in issues supporting handicapped and
developmentally disabled individuals. She
resides in Marlow and represents the Constituent Sector in
Cheshire
County
.

David Hill:
David is a single father of three girls, two of whom attended
Newport Head Start. He is past president of the Head Start Policy
Council, the Head Start Shared Governance Committee and involved
with Habitat for Humanity. David has been nominated by the Sullivan
County Housing Coalition to represent the Homeless in Sullivan
County. He resides in Guild and represents the Constituent Sector
in Sullivan
County.
