FOR CHILD CARE PROVIDERS

New Hampshire is fortunate to have a wealth of dedicated child care professionals. However, a significant percentage of child care providers leave the field every year because they cannot earn a living wage doing this critical work that they are so committed to. Child First  advocates for the early childhood profession by educating the community about the impact of the child care sector on children, families, providers, and the community at large, as well as researching solutions to this nation-wide child care crisis.

How can we support child care providers in their valuable work of caring for and teaching our children?

  • Child First  provides free training opportunities for child care providers. Click here to download a copy of our monthly training opportunities.
  • We provide technical support and financial assistance for providers to earn their professional credential per the New Hampshire Early Childhood Professional Development System. Call us at 603-352-7512 ext. 4163 or 1-800- 529-0005 to get more information on how you can earn your credential.

  • The Child Development Bureau’s New Hampshire Accreditation Facilitation Project will cover the application fees for accreditation by one of these organizations:

    • NAEYC for center based programs
    • NAFCC for family child care programs
    • NAA for after school child care programs
Call 1-800-852-3345 ext.4228 for more information on center-based accreditation.
Or 1-800-852-3345 ext.4242 for more information on family child care accreditation.
  • Due to the generosity of Providian Financial, we are currently implementing the Quality Matters initiative in the Monadnock Region. Through Quality Matters, we assist child care providers in assessing their current child care program and developing program improvement plans. Mini-grants are awarded to cover the costs of new materials, equipment, and consulting services to enhance your capacity to provide high quality child care. Call us if you are interested in learning more about this innovative program.
